History
Barrett Solar Ltd, formerly known as F.Barrett & Co started trading in 1996 when Neil Marr took it over from Entrepreneur Leslie Green. The Business has a unique history supplying lanterns & their components to Harbour Authorities and County Councils. They originally supplied Wigham Wick Lanterns before electricity was invented. The multiwick lanterns can be viewed at the Maritime Museum in Dun Laoghaire.
F.Barrett & Co was originally named Edmundson founded in 1864, who were Electrical engineers who did some outstanding pioneering projects. Back in 1996, F.Barrett & Co, helped to organise a meeting amongst solar energy enthusiasts which culminated in the founding of the Irish Solar Energy association.
